Baumgartner Nino

Nino Baumgartner sees himself as a kind of landscape painter, but without painting in the true sense. Rather, his exploration of landscape and space is based on a physical interaction that partially mobilises the aesthetics and body language of extreme and endurance sports. He understands these actions not as performances, but as tactical maneuvers. Physical strength as well as the limits of physical possibilities are the two parameters between which Baumgartner encounters the environment.
